- PhD scholarship in sedimentology : Modelling of coastal sediment transport
Research interests
- Sediment transport, especially sediment transport in coastal area and under tidal current, influence of mudflat biostabilisation and bioturbation, field experiments with oceanographic instruments, modelisation of cohesive-sediment transport, and the produced sedimentary structures.
- Measurements and modelling of waves in coastal areas, relationship between waves and coastal erosion.
- Sedimentology of salt-marshes, including modification of water flow by the vegetation, methods to quantify the vegetation, spatial variability of sedimentation rate and accretion, and spatial extension of deposited sedimentary facies.
- Diagenesis, with special interest in early cementation and carbonate diagenesis.
